The President of the University welcomes the playwright Mohamad Abu Al-Ela Al-Salamouny

            Today, Thursday, June 23, 2022, Professor  Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour, President of the University, welcomed playwright and novelist Mohamad Abu El-Ela El-Salamouny, a member of the Theater Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture. The meeting was attended by Mr. Nasser El-Ezaby, writer, theater critic, and former general manager of the cultural palaces of Giza and Damietta. Where the president of the university welcomed him, stressing that the university was honored today to receive a stature and literary and theatrical value and a flag from the Damietta governorate. Professor Mohamad Abu El-Ela Al-Salamouny presented a number of his books to the president of the university, who in turn expressed his happiness with these works and directed that they be preserved in the university library to be available to the university's affiliates Professor Mohammad Abu Al-Ela Al-Salamouni offered to dedicate one of his theatrical compositions to the university, which will be performed by the university theater team.. The president of the university welcomed this idea, stressing that the university has a theatrical team with a high degree of talent and creativity, and they will certainly be honored to perform this novel. The president of the university presented the university’s shield to Professor Mohamad Abu Al-Ela Al-Salamouny in appreciation and expression of Damietta University’s thanks and gratitude for his keenness to cooperate with the university in the field of theatrical work. It is worth noting that Mr. Mohamad Abu Al-Ela Al-Salamouny has won many awards, most notably the State Appreciation Award 2018, and the State Encouragement Award in Literature for the theatrical text in 1984, The State Medal of Science and Arts of the first class 1986, and the State Prize for Excellence in Arts 2012. Professor Mohamad Abu-Ela Al-Salamouny also excelled by writing more than thirty plays that were shown in all Egyptian theaters (The National – Al-Hadith – The Balloon – Al-Tali’a – the Comedy – Al-Samer – Al-Hanager – Miami – University Theater and Youth – Regional Theaters). Abd al-Rahim al-Zarqani, Saad Ardash, Karam Mutawa and Galal al-Sharqawy. He also wrote social and historical series for television dramas, including (Bitter Lakes - Love in the Age of Drought - Forbidden Deals - Dangerous Message - Stolen Dreams - The Heirs - The Labyrinth - A City Story - A Tale without Beginning or End - Kafr Madness - Butterflies are always burning - Eagle of the East, Salah al-Din - Jasmine flower - Muhammad Ali Pasha - Years of love and salt – Al Masry Affandy) It was directed by major directors, including Alwia Zaky, Hossam El Din Mostafa and Mohamad Fadel. The General Book Authority also issued him four volumes that include his complete works of plays that have previously been published or shown. He has many works translated into English and French, such as:

  1. (Revenge and the journey of torment) translated into English Dr. Fatma Musa 1999
  2. (The incident that took place in the month of September) translated into French by Dr. Hanan Munib 2008.
  3. (Zouba Egyptian) translated into French by Dr. Hanan Munib 2009
  4. (The farm) translated into English Dr. Mohamad El Gendy, under press.
