In the pursuit of the University of Damietta to improve the global ranking of the University by benefiting from international expertise in the field of scientific research to move towards globalization , the British Cultural Center organized a workshop at the Steigenberger Hotel in Cairo attended by a delegation from the University headed by professor Dr. El Sayed Mohamad Dadour the president of the university in the presence of Professor Dr.  Hemdan Rabie – the vice president for Postgraduate Studies and Research and a number of deans , professors and a number of faculty members.

      The meeting began when Mr. John McGovern - an international education expert at the British International Council, introduced the services that  the center could provide to Damietta University. The most important thing at Damietta University was to establish an international partnership between the university and one of the English universities with the advanced international  ranking in light of the country's trends towards partnerships between Egyptian universities and reputable international universities. The workshop was also preceded by a meeting between professor Dr. El Sayed Dadour the president of the university , Mr. John McGovern and Ms. Sahar Khamis – the director of training programs at the British Council in Cairo to explore the benefits of the services provided by the British Council because of its significant impact in the fields of scientific research , as well as participatory education programs between Damietta University and international universities. Dr. Dadour thanked and appreciated the members of the university delegation for the British side's praise for their excellence, culture, remarkable activity and their ability to interact during the workshop.
