Damietta University achieves advanced positions in various international classifications

           Damietta University has achieved a new achievement in a number of world university rankings, as the 2021 World University Rankings with Real Impact (WURI) announced its results yesterday, and only three Egyptian universities were included in this classification, including Damietta University, which came at the level (201-300). At the level of universities in the world with a real impact, and came from the top 100 innovative universities. The World University with Real Impact ranking is a new ranking that “assesses the contributions of real universities to societies, highlighting innovative and innovative approaches to research and university education.” The Times Higher Education magazine, which is concerned with the international ranking of universities, also issued its new edition THE: Arab University Rankings 2021, which ranks the best Arab universities based on the same international standards with some changes that reflect the missions of universities in the Middle East and North Africa, and Damietta University came in 71st place. -80 at the level of public and private Arab universities through this classification, and this is an advanced position due to the recent emergence of Damietta University compared to the long history of many Arab universities, whether public or private. It is noteworthy that one of the most important requirements to qualify in this classification is that the university has published over the past five years more than 500 research papers in scientific journals listed in Clarivate Analytics, in the fields studied by the university, and in this regard, the Times Ranking of Arab Universities depends on Five main pillars: - Education (which constitutes 33% and includes academic reputation, the ratio of the number of students to faculty members, the university's income in relation to the number of faculty members, the percentage of those who obtained a doctorate from the university).

 - Scientific research (consists of 33% and includes research reputation and income from research compared to faculty members and the number of research).

Reference citations represent 20%.

 - Societal impact (represents 6% and includes income from industry and knowledge transfer from innovations and patents).

- International Relations (representing 8% for faculty members, expatriates and joint research).

It is worth noting that the Webometrics World Ranking announced that the university had advanced hundreds of centers in the July 2021 edition, where it came in 2909, to achieve progress to about five thousand centers within the last five years. The educational strategies and research policies adopted by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. El-Sayed Mohamed Daadour, and supervised by Prof. Hamdan Rabie, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, had a clear impact on the university’s qualification to enter the various classifications, and there was a great role for the classification team at the university headed by Dr. Amani Al-Dyasty who made a great effort to classify the university’s features and the work of its affiliates, and the greatest credit goes to the university’s researchers and the various work teams, foremost of which is the electronic portal and all the different leaders and departments. The university is making organized efforts to encourage its affiliates to publish internationally in the first quarter Q1 journals in order to advance scientific research and develop its outputs in all fields, in addition to providing a distinguished educational and research environment to achieve the desired progress in classifications at all Arab and international levels, which will show its greatest cumulative effect.
