Six of the university's professors are on the Stanford Top 2 list. From the world's scientists.

Stanford University released its 2021 report for the list of the top 2% of the world's most influential scientists according to the global databases launched by the Elsevier platform according to the 2021 Scientific Publication and Citation Indicators. The database included more than 100,000 of the world's leading scientists. The database showed standardized information on citations, the h index, the modified hm index for co-authorship, and other indicators. Scientists are categorized into 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields. With all honor and pride, the list included six scientists from Damietta University:

 1. Professor Dr. Adel Zaki Al-Sunbaty, Faculty of Science.

2. The name of Professor Dr. Hamdy Mahmoud Zidan "may God have mercy on him" at the Faculty of Science.

3. Professor Dr. Ahmed Abd Al Ghany Owais, Faculty of Specific Education – Computer.

4 Professor Dr. Abd Al-Gawad Mohamed Rady, Faculty of Science.

5. Professor Dr. Gaber Mukhtar Abu Gadallah, Faculty of Science.

6. Professor. Dr. Nasra Ayoub, Faculty of Medicine.

It is worth noting that the total number of Egyptian scientists from public and private universities and research centers in this list has reached 326, and the percentages of field and subfield for all scientists in this list are also provided as stated in the following link:
