The Spanish classification of universities, Scimago, has been announced, which deals with evaluating the research performance of universities, which depends on the size, impact and quality of scientific research outputs for universities for the year 2023. Damietta University continued to be included in the Q2 Institutional Innovation Output Sub-Index. The university was also included in the societal impact sub-indicator for the first time within Q2 institutions. Damietta University appeared in 13 majors out of a total of 19 that were published in the results of the Simago Classification for the year 2023, perhaps the most prominent of which are computer sciences, engineering, chemistry, social sciences, mathematics and physics. The results of majors at Damietta University achieved advanced positions. It is noticeable that specializations such as drugs and veterinary sciences appear in the research performance of Damietta University, despite the absence of faculties such as pharmacy and veterinary medicine in it, but this progress is attributed to the encouragement of the postgraduate studies sector, researchers and faculty members affiliated with the university to publish intermediate research in all basic and natural sciences.
