The President of the University attends a symposium organized by the Popular and Military Defense Forces

            Today, Thursday, May 26, 2022, the 26th educational symposium organized by the Popular and Military Defense Forces was held at the New Damietta Culture Palace, with the aim of developing the spirit of loyalty and belonging and raising youth awareness of the dangers that threaten the Egyptian national security, in the presence of Major General A. H. / Emad Ahmed Zaki Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, Professor  Dr. Manal Awad, Governor of Damietta, Colonel Dr. Saeed Helmy Abd Al KhaleK, Military Adviser in Damietta Governorate, and a number of executive leaders in the governorate. The educational symposium was also attended by Professor  Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour, President of Damietta University, Professor  Dr. Abd Al Hamid Khedr, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Professor  Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Professor  Dr. Wael Farouk Al-Taibany, Vice President for Affairs Education and Students, and Lieutenant-Colonel Ahmed Al-Garaihy, Director of the Military Education Department, and a number of male and female students of the university's fourteen faculties. The delegations of Horus and Delta Universities, male and female students from a number of public and private schools in Damietta, a number of civil society representatives in Damietta, and the families of the martyrs of the homeland from Damietta governorate also participated. The symposium included many activities, which began with a performance by the Roya Performance Troupe, then another performance by the School of Light and Hope for People of Determination. The symposium then witnessed a lecture on artificial intelligence by Professor   Dr. Ghada Amer, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research, Banha University. Subsequently, a documentary film, "The Dream of a Homeland", was implemented by the Department of Moral Affairs in the Armed Forces, about Damietta Governorate, and the most prominent developments in the governorate in recent governmental areas. After that, the two brothers, Amal Awad and Ali Awad, presented patriotic poetry paragraphs. Then the seminar witnessed a singing choir presented by the Egyptian Public School and the Directorate of Youth and Sports. The symposium's activities also included a group of performances of "Generation of Tomorrow, I am the people, I am Egyptian", performed by the Roya Performance Ensemble and the School of Light and Hope. The symposium's activities also included a lecture by journalist and historian Hilmy Al-Namnam, the former Minister of Culture, on the importance of developing a spirit of loyalty and belonging. The military schools in Damietta presented a military parade to the tunes of a number of patriotic songs. A documentary film entitled "War and Judgment"", prepared by the Department of Moral Affairs in the Armed Forces, was shown showing the efforts of the Egyptian armed forces and police in confronting black terrorism and eliminating terrorist outposts. A documentary film of the martyrs' sons of Damietta, who were martyred while defending the homeland, was also shown. Towards the end of the symposium, Major General A. H. / Imad Ahmed Zaky, Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, gave his speech, which welcomed the attendees at the beginning, in which he stressed the need to develop the spirit of loyalty and belonging and to educate young people about the dangers that threaten the Egyptian national security in light of the remarkable development the world is witnessing. At the end of the symposium, the families of the martyrs from Damietta Governorate were honored in appreciation and gratitude for their efforts to protect the homeland.
