Today, Thursday, October 13, Professor Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour, President of the University, inspected the land of the Agricultural Experiments and Research Center in Abu Greda area, where he was accompanied by Professor Dr. Abd Al Hamid Khedr, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Professor Dr. El-Metwally Mustafa Selim, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohamad El Sheikha, Vice Dean of the College of Agriculture for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Salah Abd Al Hamid, Director of the Agricultural Experiment and Research Center in Abu Greda. They were welcomed  by a number of members of the University's Agricultural Experiments and Research Center, and the visit was to signal the start of the rice harvesting planted in the land of the Agricultural Experiments and Research Center of the University, where the first phase of harvesting the rice crop started at the Agricultural Experiments and Research Center in Abu Greda today, Thursday, 13/10 /2022, within the framework of the great interest and support of the President of the University to advance the center and provide his sovereignty with all forms of support necessary to provide the basic needs of the center, which contributed significantly to improving the quality and quantity of the rice crop during this year due to modern agricultural practices and conducting research and scientific studies on new varieties of rice Damietta Governorate. The aforementioned measures resulted in a noticeable increase in the quality and quantity of the rice crop planted during this year. In addition, modern and advanced methods were used for the center's apiary, which increased the rate of honey significantly. The President of the University extended a special thanks to Professor Dr. Abd Al Hamid Khedr, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and to Professor Dr. El-Metwally Selim, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, for the huge boom that occurred in the productivity of the university’s agricultural lands after the experiment center was stumbling and not making profits. The efforts of their eminence and the accompanying team resulted in the center getting out of its stumbles and it started making profits that are added to the university's own resources, and it produces suitable quantities that contribute to the development of food crops, including rice and wheat. Dr. Dadour also thanked the people in charge of the Agricultural Experiments and Research Center in Abu Greda, for their tangible efforts in the recent period to raise the level of performance of the center, headed by Professor Dr. Ahmed Salah Abd Al Hamid, director of the center, and Mr. Diaa Hammouda, the center's observer. At the end of the visit, the president of the university recommended that the center provide agricultural consultations in all areas that serve the agricultural and industrial community in Damietta Governorate. Community service and environmental development sector and the College of Agriculture in carrying out various agricultural extension convoys in the previous period to provide advice and consultations to farmers.
