His Eminence Bishop Markus, Archbishop of Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh and the Monastery of St. Demiana in Barghary Belqas welcomed   Professor   Dr. El Sayed Mohamad Dadour , the president of  Damietta University to attend the celebration held on the occasion of the birthday of Jesus Christ in the Church of the Virgin Mary.  Professor Dr. Manal Awad Mekhaeel the  Governor of Damietta, a number of security leaders , the deputies of the People's Assembly  , Professor  Dr. Mohamad Abo Shwareb , the dean of Faculty of Physical Education,  and a number of faculty members, administrative staff and students at the university attended the celebration. Dr. Dadour   extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Christians.
