On Tuesday 28 / 7 /2020 , permanent electricity was connected to the campus of Damietta University, Professor Dr. El Sayed Mohamad Dadour the president of the university , has launched the start of the current operation, announcing the beginning of a new era at the university, where  the electricity delivered will be enough for the university to run for about 50 years. Professor Dr. El Sayed Mohamad Dadour the president of the university expressed his great pleasure with this event. The University President extended thanks and appreciation to all those who contributed to the completion of this major event, led by Professor Dr. Mohamad Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, who met the president of the university several times and studied himself the file and directed to overcome the difficulties of the project. The University President also praised Professor Dr. Khaled Abd El Ghafar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who supported the university in all stages of construction and infrastructure equipment. This great event happened in the presence of Professor Dr. Abd El Hamed El Sayed  Khedr- the vice president for Community Service and Environmental Development , Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie – the vice president for Postgraduate Studies and Research and  Professor Dr. Wael Al Tybany – the vice president for Education and Students' Affairs and a large number of university staff who were keen to attend that historic event.
