Damietta University ranked ninth among Egyptian universities according to the Nature Index that evaluates the outputs of scientific research published during the period December 1, 2019 - November 30, 2020, in the following areas:

- Life science

- physics

- Chemistry

- Earth and Environmental Sciences         

The presence of Damietta University in the world rankings came strongly as a result of a clear-goal plan adopted by , Professor  Dr. El Sayed Mohamad Dadour -the president of the university    , and supervised by  Professor  Dr. Hemdan Rabie, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research. -The president of the university extends his thanks and appreciation to Damietta University's scholars, , faculty members and researchers, for their efforts in scientific publishing.  He also thanks the university's classification team headed by Professor  Dr. Amany Al-Diasty.
