The University Council held its # 180 session

The President of the University 30.05.2022 6038

           Today, Monday, May 30, 2022, at eleven in the morning in the Great Meeting Hall of the new General Administration building, the University Council held its # 180 session headed by Professor Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour, President of the University, and the membership of the Vice Presidents and Deans of Faculties. The session witnessed the honoring of Professor Dr. Mohamad Abu Shwareb, the former Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Talaat, the former Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine, where Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abu Shawareb held the position of Dean of the Faculty to the maximum allowed in the light of the Universities Organizing Law, during which he contributed to the development of the Faculty At all levels, the Council wishes him success in his mission as an advisor to the President of the University for occasions and celebrations. The Council also honored Professor Dr. Ashraf Talaat in appreciation of his historical role in preparing the academic regulations and study programs for the College of Human Medicine and for his supervision of the preparation of the college’s laboratories. The Council wishes him success in his mission as an advisor to the President of the University to combat infection and epidemics. The president of the university handed over the university’s shield to Professor Dr. Mohamad Abu Shwareb, and Professor Dr. Hamza Kabeel, Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine, received a shield on behalf of Professor Dr. Ashraf Talaat, who apologized for not attending due to an appointment. Then he moved to discuss the 96 topics on the agenda, and the Council took many decisions, the most important of which are as follows:

  1. Approval to renew membership from abroad in the university councils (University Council, Council of Graduate Studies and Research, Council for Education and Student Affairs, Council for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, college councils) for one time only, where the maximum membership of these councils is two terms, similar to the heads of these councils, and to exchange among colleagues and benefit from multiple experiences.
  2. Approval of naming the stadiums of the Olympic Village after the names of sports figures from the people of Damietta Governorate, as follows:
  • Captain/ Refaat Al Fanageely Football Stadium.
  • Dr. Kamal Darwish Handball Stadium.
  • Captain Nassef Selim Volleyball Court.
  • Swimming pool project - Captain/ Abd Al Meneim Abdo.
  • Mr. Galal Rakha Tennis Court.

It is worth noting that the name of Captain Sameer Zaher was previously given to one of the football stadiums.

  1. Approval of the procedures to rehabilitate the building of the Faculty of Commerce in the new city of Damietta to become the “Electronic Test Center at Damietta University” in light of the implementation of the directives of the political leadership in the field of digital transformation
  2. Approval of the regulations for the educational program distinguished with the expenses of “Physical Rehabilitation and Stadium Injuries” at the Faculty of Physical Education, and addresses the Supreme Council of Universities to complete the procedures
  3. Approval of the proposed regulation for the establishment of the “Fashion and Jewelery Design” program at the College of Applied Arts, and addresses the Supreme Council of Universities to complete the procedures.
  4. Approval of the amendments to the regulations for the educational program distinguished with the expenses of “Gold and Jewelery Design” at the College of Applied Arts, and addresses the Supreme Council of Universities to complete the procedures.
  5. Granting the scientific title to (4) as assistant professor.
  6. Granting the scientific title to two (2) professors.
  7. Appointment of (4) by way of promotion with the rank of teacher in the faculties of the university.
  8. Granting (9) a doctorate degree.
  9. Granting (12) master's degrees.

The meeting ended at three in the afternoon.
