Today, the Web Metrics ranking of universities was released globally for the January 2021, as Damietta University has achieved remarkable progress by occupying the 3288th place out of 31,000 universities at the global level. By this , the university achieved a progression of 221 places over the July 2020 classification, , where the university was then ranked 350th.

The University's ranking in the Arab and African countries was as follows:   

North African University Level: 47^th  place.

African Universities Level : 108^th place.

The Arab world Universities Level : 119^th  place.

Middle East Universities Level : 295th place.

   This reflects the progress of the university at a steady pace in all fields, not scientific research only sponsored by professor Dr . El Sayed Mohamad Dadour the president of the university. It shows also the extent of the effort made by the graduate studies sector under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie – the vice president for Postgraduate Studies and Research in order to improve the university's global ranking in all classifications . It also shows the interest of the faculty members of the university  in scientific research and publishing in international periodicals and it also emphasizes the significant role played by the university team to collect data on the university that supports improving the global ranking. The university's website officials have also played a prominent role in this significant improvement as a result of their outstanding work in this regard.
