          Today, Thursday, May 11, 2023, Professor Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour, President of Damietta University, welcomed a delegation from the American University in Cairo, composed of Dr. Maha Fakhry, Executive Director of University Centers for Professional Development, Dr. Wafaa Bakhit, Deputy Project Director, and Dr. Amir Roshdi, Project Manager at the University. This is to discuss the establishment of a professional development center at Damietta University. The meeting was also attended by Professor Dr. Abd Al-Hamed Khedr, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Professor Dr. Wael Farouk Al-Taybany, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The President of the University emphasized that the Career Development Center has a pivotal role in coordinating and cooperating with private sector institutions, to prepare graduates and qualify them to join the labor market, after obtaining training, advice and professional support provided by the Center. At the end of the meeting Professor Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour, President of the University and members of the committee, visited the proposed headquarters for the establishment of a professional development center at the university. On the sidelines of the tour, some of the university's modern laboratories and research centers were inspected, including the Research Excellence Center in Agricultural Sciences, and the modern laboratories of the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, such as the virtual & Augmented Reality lab, and the Student's Advanced Programming Lab (a student lab for advanced programming). It is worth noting that the American University Career Development Center aims to establish 30 centers for professional development in 22 Egyptian public universities to serve students and graduates. It also provides vocational guidance services, English language training, employment skills, communication with private sector institutions, in addition to training in labor institutions.
