Due to the role of the university in enriching the scientific research system and with the aim of uniting the efforts of research groups in the different faculties of the university to serve a unified research center of the university and believing in the directions of the state and the Ministry of Scientific Research to pay attention to space research, studies and related applications, such as space exploration, remote sensing of natural phenomena on the ground, analysis of images and geographical maps, and Archaeological excavations and mineral resources in the ground, Geodesic studies of the movements of the last earth's layers and their impact on vital areas, as well as the resulting changes in the electromagnetic field of the Earth and other planets and the surrounding plasma areas and the solar cell industry as a simulation of the sun , the president of the university Professor, Dr. El Sayed Mohamad Dadour with Professor, Dr. Abd El Hamid Khedr – the vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development inaugurated the Center for Space Research and Its Applications at the University which was approved by the University Council on 28 October 2019 and submitted by Professor, Dr. Wael Farouk Al-Taybani – the dean of the Faculty of Science. Professor, Dr.Salah Kamel Al Labny – the Professor of Theoretical Plasma Physics and the  former dean of Science and Specific Education Colleges was appointed as a Director of the Center . He was awarded the Medal of Science and Arts from the first Class in 2017 from President Abd Al Fattah El Sisi , the State Appreciation Award 2016 , Mansoura University 2012 And Damietta University  2015 Appreciation  Awards, the best Researcher Award 2007  and the State Appreciation Award 2003.
