The Ministry of Higher Education supports the micro-analysis laboratory at the university

     Quoted from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s Facebook page: 2 million pounds for the development of water treatment laboratories at the Faculty of Science, Damietta University, which was approved in accordance with the international specifications ISO (2017/17025) in the chemical and physical tests of water.

Professor Dr. Khaled Abd Al Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, directed to provide technical and financial support to the Water Research Microanalysis Laboratory at the Faculty of Science, Damietta University, which was approved in accordance with the international specifications ISO (2017/17025) in chemical and physical water tests, and this comes out of the interest of the state. Water treatment and its requirements, so that it is suitable for use in all fields. Professor Dr. Hesham Farouk, Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation and Acting Director of the Higher Education Development Projects Management Unit, stated that the laboratory was funded with an amount of 2 million Egyptian pounds, as the project to rehabilitate laboratories for accreditation at the Higher Development Projects Unit contributed one million and two hundred thousand pounds by 60%, and Damietta University contributed 800,000 pounds EGP 40%, and the project to qualify for international accreditation began in September 2018, ended in August 2020, and was internationally approved in January 2022. Professor Dr. Mahmoud Wafik, director of the laboratory rehabilitation project in the unit, added that the water research microanalysis laboratory provides its research services to researchers and the community in the field of examining samples imported from abroad and exported; To ensure its safety from pollution before using it, the laboratory will also contribute to the examination of water resources, and to ensure that they are free of pollution in the Damietta area, in addition to environmental monitoring of pollution in industrial areas in Damietta Governorate, explaining that the project mainly serves to preserve health, and represents a linking point between service research laboratories inside and outside the university with the surrounding industrial centers. Professor Dr. El-Sawy Ahmed, consultant and quality expert in the Higher Education Development Projects Unit indicated that the project to rehabilitate the laboratories in Egyptian universities aims to qualify research laboratories in Egyptian universities for international accreditation, raise the classification of Egyptian universities internationally, work to raise the institutional capacities of laboratories, strengthen the infrastructure of the research and educational process, and develop a system Work and management in laboratories, and raise the competencies and capabilities of technical personnel in laboratories; To reach sustainable mechanisms for self-financing and to strengthen and activate the relationship between educational institutions and the productive society.
