The Ministry of Higher Education has received praise from the Presidency Foundation for the efforts made by the Ministry of Higher Education, Damietta University and the University's Faculty of Applied Arts to announce a competition at the level of applied arts colleges in Egypt that specializes in preparing designs for wooden industries and decoration to support the furniture city in Damietta with a recommendation to study the possibility of the Faculty of Applied Arts at Damietta University directing graduate projects for undergraduate students towards supporting the Furniture City with designs from their creations to achieve a modern development in the field of furniture industry in Damietta. Professor Dr. Khaled Abd Al Ghaffar – the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, referred the recommendation to Professor Dr.El Sayed Mohamad Dadour- the President of the Damietta University who immediately assigned the Council of the Faculty of Applied Arts headed by Professor Dr. Hatem Idrees – the  dean of the college, to study the subject scientifically and practically and take the necessary Procedures.
