The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Al-Metwally Mustafa Selim, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Dr. Khaled Abd Al-Fattah Abu Al-Maati, a teacher in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Agriculture. The transmission electron microscope is one of the most important devices included in the Center for Research Excellence in Advanced Agricultural Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture (under construction). The device is a distinguished addition to the university's research and scientific activities at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Faculty of Agriculture, the faculties of the medical sector (Nursing and Human Medicine), and the faculties of sciences, applied arts, engineering and archeology. The device serves many research activities in many different fields, including, for example:

1. Examination and diagnosis of animal and plant tissues
2. Examination of synthetic nanomaterials used in plant and animal nutrients, pesticides and water treatment industries
3. Examination of human tissues of various types such as kidney, liver and lung tissues
4. Detecting viral infections such as the Corona virus in addition to examining and diagnosing cells and cancerous tumors and examining medicinal drug compounds and emulsions
5. Examination of ultrafine conductors and semiconductors
6. Inspection of polymers and imaging of microstructured compounds as well as microstructure imaging of natural textiles and fabrics

In addition to serving the educational and research process at the university at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the operation of the device in the Center for Research Excellence in Advanced Agricultural Sciences aims to serve the surrounding industrial community, such as the New Damietta Industrial Zone, the Free Zone in Damietta and the Damietta Port Authority. The center is also scheduled to open its doors for all beneficiaries from Damietta Governorate or neighboring governorates to conduct any examination or diagnosis related to the device or other devices to be installed in the coming period. The advantage of the penetrating electronic microscope device is that it provides the opportunity for the beneficiary or researcher to examine and diagnose the sample online by sending the sample to the center, provided that the device specialist in the center installs the sample in the place of examination and coordinates with the researcher in the examination and diagnosis without the need to come to the center. The establishment of the Center for Research Excellence in Advanced Agricultural Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture is one of the university’s responses to the directives of President Abd Al Fattah El-Sisi during his meeting with university presidents in December 2021 to support the process of linking the scientific research system and the specialized research centers that follow, as well as providing all facilities for the preparation of research and studies.
