Damietta University continued its advancement in Google Scholar's scholarly citation classification Transparent Ranking: Top Universities by Citation in Top Google Scholar Profiles where the Spanish Webometrics Foundation announced the results of the classification of international universities in terms of the number of reference citations monitored by Google Scholar, January 2023 edition. The results showed the continued progress of Damietta University in this classification, as the university ranked 1581 at the level of universities in the world, thus achieving 116 international ranks over the July 2022 issue, when the ranking at that time was 1697, while the number of reference citations from research affiliates of Damietta University reached 63280. The results also showed that Damietta University advanced 168 global positions in the Webometrics classification for the July 2022 issue, which was then 2883, achieving rank 2710. In the January 2023 edition, it is ranked among 31,000 universities and research institutions around the world. The result also showed the regional ranking of Damietta University as follows: The 93rd place in Africa, the 109th place in the Arab world, the 41st place at the level of universities in North Africa, and the 328th place at the level of universities in the Middle East, and Rank 163 at the level of emerging economies. This progress reflects the quality of scientific research and the distinguished contributions of the affiliates of Damietta University in international publishing. Although Damietta University is only ten years and a few months old, the dedication of its affiliates made it appear successively in the lists of global rankings of universities around the world, and it was not enough to be classified Rather, it is progressing continuously and with rapid steps, achieving a distinguished arrangement in view of the recent establishment of the university.
