The Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority organized a scientific celebration at the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Fifth Settlement. With the aim of handing over the contracts of (13) projects, with a total financing amounting to (150) million pounds, which are the projects that won the appeal for the initiative to develop successful laboratories and centers of excellence funded by the Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Damietta University was honored to win funding for one of these 13 projects, as only five universities won in this competition that was subject to the highest levels of arbitration in an impartial manner, and they are the universities of Damietta, Ain Shams, Mansoura, Sohag, and the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology, in addition to institutions Other scientific projects, such as Zewail City of Science and Technology, the Desert Research Center, and the Agricultural Research Center, were within the framework of the initiative to develop successful laboratories and centers of excellence funded by the Commission. The Minister, Professor Dr. Mohamad Ayman Ashour, inaugurated the event and honored the winning projects, in the presence of Professor Dr. Walaa Sheta, CEO of the Authority, Professor Dr. Yasser Refaat, the Deputy Minister, Professor Dr. El Sayed Mohamed Dadour, President of Damietta University, and Professor Dr. Mahmoud El-Metiny, President of Ain Shams University., Professor Dr. Amr Adly, President of the Egyptian-Japanese University, Professor Dr. Hessein Darwish, Head of the National Research Center, Professor Dr. Abdullah Zaghloul, Head of the Desert Research Center, Professor Dr. Shereen Assem on behalf of Dr. Mohamad Soliman, Head of the Agricultural Research Center, Dr. Adel Abd Al Ghaffar, Media Advisor and Official Spokesman for the Ministry, and Professor Dr. Walid Al-Zawawi is Secretary of the Council of Research Centers, Institutes and Organizations. In his address during the celebration, Professor  Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour praised the efforts of the Ministry and the Science, Technology and Innovation Finance Authority in developing laboratories and centers of excellence and their praise for successful models. He expressed his happiness that Damietta University won one of these projects as a newly emerging university, but it is not a university. Small, but proves day after day its worth in competing with old universities in all fields. In this regard, Professor Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour extends his sincere congratulations to Professor Dr. Tarek Abu El-Maaty, principal investigator of the winning project and his assistant work team, who honored the university with their innovative ideas and sincere efforts. The university is in all scientific fields, and it is hoped that the next stage will witness more excellence in laboratories and distinguished research centers, as the university has allocated a huge budget for this purpose in order to support scientific research related to the needs of society and applied research and linking scientific research with industry.
