Today, Thursday, February 9, 2023, Professor Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour, the President of the University, inaugurated the Egypt Cup for Weightlifting for the Blind, which is organized by the Faculty of Physical Education at Damietta University, where he welcomed a delegation from the Egyptian Federation of the Blind, consisting of Mr. Bakhit Aziz, and Mr. Hazem Fathi, as members of the Board of Directors. The Egyptian Federation for the Blind, as well as Mr. Emad El-Din Abd Al Aziz, Administrative Director of the Blind Teams, Dr. Hossam El-Din Mostafa, Chairman of the Medical Committee of the Egyptian Federation for the Blind, and Dr. Khaled Eyadah, Technical Director of the Egyptian Weightlifting Team for the Blind , This was in the presence of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Ibrahim Al-Matbouly, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, and Dr. Ahmed Awad Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Weightlifting Training at the University and the International Referee for Weightlifting. The university president welcomed the guests, wished them a successful tournament and thanked them for their confidence in Damietta University organizing the tournament. For their part, the Egyptian Blind Weightlifting Federation presented a memorial shield to the university president. Then everyone went to the opening of the championship activities, in which 30 players and 40 players from various Egyptian clubs participated. The university president witnessed part of the competitions for different weights. It is worth noting that the tournament will be held on February 9 and 10, 2023 at Damietta University, and it is the first competitive tournament at the level of the Republic organized by the university. Also included in the university’s agenda is the organization of the Faculty of Physical Education for many local, regional and international tournaments in the coming period, God willing.
