Within the framework of activating the Egyptian-French scientific cooperation program (Imhotep), which is being implemented between the Egyptian Ministry of Scientific Research and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology is responsible for the administrative work of the program on the Egyptian side. The program covers the following research topics:

• Water: wastewater, desalination, irrigation
• Environment: new and renewable energy, hydrogen fuel cells, electric car batteries
• Health, biology, and medicine: the use of biotechnology to produce enzymes, advanced diagnostic techniques for hepatitis C
• Mathematics and its interactions
• Physics
• Earth and space sciences
• Chemistry
• Humanities and social sciences
• Social sciences (tourism and education)
• Engineering sciences (importance for energy projects)
• Information and communication sciences and technology: multimedia
• Agriculture, animal and vegetable production: crop production

This program runs for 24 months, and the Academy funds each project with an annual amount of EGP 300,000. Researchers wishing to participate in the program should register online at the following website

The deadline for submitting research proposals is April 15, 2025. If the proposal is approved for inclusion in the aforementioned program, the principal investigator and the research entity will be notified.
