Within the framework of following up on the regularity of the educational process in the second term of the academic year 2024/2025, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, participated in the inspection tour by Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, this morning, Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Samanoud Technological University in Gharbia Governorate in the presence of Professor Dr. Montasr Dowidar, President of Samanoud Technological University, Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, Professor Dr. Abd Al-Razek Desouky, President of Kafr El-Sheikh University, Professor Dr. Mohamad Hussein, President of Tanta University, Dr. Mahmoud Issa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Gyoushy, Secretary of the Council of Technological Universities, and a group of ministry and university leaders and members of the House of Representatives. The Minister was assured of the progress of the educational process and the availability of all necessary capabilities to ensure the success of the semester. The tour began with an inspection of the classrooms and auditoriums, where the Minister reassured the presence of the teaching staff and the supporting staff, and held a discussion with the students to seek out their opinions and their readiness to complete the study. He also inspected the laboratory and workshop building, which includes:
Basic Workshop: Contains 6 multi-purpose machines.
Spinning and weaving workshop: includes 5 specialized machines.
Ready-made clothing workshop: includes 30 modern machines.
Computer labs: 3 labs equipped with 25 machines each.
Food Industry Laboratory: It includes 18 machines for food manufacturing applications.
The Minister also viewed the university's exhibition, which displays applied student projects, and praised the student creativity resulting from practical training, stressing that these models reflect the quality of educational programs that combine the theoretical (40%) and practical (60%) aspects. Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed, during his address, that technological universities are an essential pillar for achieving sustainable development by graduating qualified cadres that meet the needs of the labor market, especially in the surrounding industrial areas. He pointed to the expansion of the network of technological universities to reach 12 universities, including Samanoud University, which recently joined within the second phase. Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie’s participation in this tour stemmed from his keenness to enhance cooperation between Egyptian universities and exchange academic and research experiences. Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie stressed the importance of this visit in strengthening ties between Damietta University and technological universities, in a way that serves the goals of sustainable development and contributes to the development of the educational system in Egypt.
