As part of the activation of the Egyptian-French scientific cooperation program (Imhotep), implemented between the Egyptian Ministry of Scientific Research and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology managing the administrative aspects of the program on behalf of the Egyptian side, research proposals are invited in the following fields:

• Water: Wastewater treatment, desalination, irrigation
• Environment: Renewable energy, hydrogen fuel cells, electric vehicle batteries
• Health, Biology, and Pharmaceuticals: Biotechnology applications for enzyme production, advanced diagnostic techniques for Hepatitis C
• Mathematics and its interactions
• Physics
• Earth and Space Sciences
• Chemistry
• Humanities and Social Sciences
• Community Sciences (Tourism and Education)
• Engineering Sciences (priority for energy-related projects)
• Information and Communication Technologies: Multimedia
• Agriculture, Animal Production, and Vegetables: Crop production

This program runs for 24 months, with the Academy funding each project at a rate of 300,000 EGP annually. Interested researchers are required to apply online at the following website:

If the proposal is accepted under the mentioned program, the principal investigator and the research institution will be notified.
