The Spanish Webometrics Foundation announced the results of the global university classification in terms of reference citations monitored by Google Scholar, July 2024 version, “Top Universities by Citations in Google Scholar Profiles.” The results showed Damietta University’s progress in this classification, as the number of reference citations to Damietta University reached 103,859 compared to 94,063 citations in January 2024 edition; Thus, the number of reference citations to Damietta University increased by 9,796 within six months, which reflects the quality of scientific research at the university and the distinguished contributions of the university’s employees to international publishing. Thus, it ranked 20th out of 51 Egyptian universities listed in this classification. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, extends his deepest thanks and appreciation to the deputies, deans, and all the university’s employees, including scholars and researchers, who contributed with their research published in the most prestigious scientific journals to enable the university to reach advanced positions in the classifications. He also extends his thanks to the university’s classification team, headed by Professor Dr. Amany Al-Desty  for Their great effort.
