Under the patronage of professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of professor Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, and professor Dr. Yahya Abd Al-Azim Al-Mashad, President of Delta University of Science and Technology, witnessed the closing ceremony of the activities of the Sixth Olympiad for the Computer Science and Informatics Sector 2024, which was organized by The Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at Damietta University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at Delta University of Science and Technology, under the title “Made in Egypt: Innovative technology to achieve sustainable development goals.” The closing ceremony of the Sixth Olympiad for the Computer Sciences and Informatics sector began with the presentation of a recorded speech by professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in which he affirmed the political leadership’s support for universities in their endeavor to provide innovative, applicable technological solutions. To achieve the sustainable development goals of the new republic, as well as its role in driving the engine of progress and development and confronting local and global challenges. The Minister pointed out that the Scientific Olympiad is considered a golden opportunity to encourage students and youth to innovate and create, and that students’ participation in such events gives them an opportunity to apply the theories and concepts they have learned in the field of computer science and informatics, and develop their practical and intellectual skills. Saying: “We realize that youth are the foundation of the future, and that investing in their education and developing their skills is an investment in Egypt’s future.” The Minister added that organizing this Olympiad reflects the commitment to supporting students and researchers, and encouraging them to innovate and create. Believing that education is not just about receiving information, but rather a comprehensive process that includes developing mental, intellectual and practical skills. professor Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed the Ministry’s keenness to support and encourage universities to organize such scientific events and competitions that give students the opportunity to interact, learn and compete in a stimulating environment, pointing out that organizing competitions in the field of artificial intelligence has become a necessity in an era in which artificial intelligence is considered one of the most prominent technologies that bring about changes. Radical development in various fields, including education, health, industry, and agriculture, stressing that the use of artificial intelligence in education allows the development of interactive and personalized educational programs that help students learn faster and more effectively. The Minister directed the need for universities to be centers of excellence in scientific research, and to contribute effectively to solving the problems and challenges facing society, especially since innovation in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence can contribute significantly to improving the quality of life, increasing productivity, and promoting economic and social development. . At the conclusion of his speech, the Minister appreciated the efforts of universities and partners from the public and private sectors in supporting these events, noting that cooperation and coordination between the academic and industrial sectors can contribute to achieving a qualitative shift in the field of innovation and technology in Egypt. The Minister thanked the presidents of Damietta and Delta Universities and all those organizing this great scientific event, as well as the participants, including students, professors and researchers, hoping that it would be a platform for learning and exchanging ideas and experiences, stressing that we are certain that innovation is the path to achieving sustainable development, and we are committed to supporting all initiatives and projects. In his speech, Professor Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, expressed his great happiness at his presence on the Damietta University campus for the second time since he assumed his position as Governor of Damietta, and in this ancient governorate, which is characterized by unique elements. The Governor of Damietta had previously inspected the projects participating in the Olympiad from various universities, praising the level of ideas for those projects that reflect visions of innovation and creativity in the field of artificial intelligence sciences. In his speech, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, thanked the Governor of Damietta for his keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation with the university to complete the development process. He valued the fruitful cooperation and integration with Delta University in several scientific fields, thanking all the leaders present and participating in the Olympics and the sponsors who contributed their support to its success. The participating students submitted eighty projects that were evaluated by the judging committee, and the ten best projects were chosen. Research, and thanked Professor Dr. Wael Abd Al Kader, Dean of the College of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, for the effort and dedication expended in organizing the Olympics in order to achieve it in an optimal manner. The closing ceremony of the Olympics included honoring the former presidents of Damietta University, the presidents of a number of universities, the head of the New Damietta City Reconstruction Authority, members of the Computer Science and Informatics Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, and sponsors of the Olympics. •Winning teams in the field of green computing:

The Kafr El-Sheikh University team won first place, and the Sixth of October University team came in second place.

•The winning teams in the field of technology in the service of humanity:

The Beni Suef University team won first place, the Damietta University team won second place, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport team came in third place.

•Winning teams in the field of climate change:

The Tanta University team won first place, while the Minya University team won second place.

•Winning teams in medical fields

The team from the Higher Future Institute for Specialized Technological Studies won first place, the Cairo University team came in second place, and the Zagazig University team won third place.

Student Youssef at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at Zagazig University was also honored for his scientific excellence and distinguished participation during the Olympics.
