Damietta University celebrates honoring its distinguished students with disabilities

           Damietta University celebrates honoring Distinguished disabled students in the fields of education, art, sports and culture. Within the framework of the efforts of Damietta University, headed by Professor Dr. Hamdan Rabie Al-Metwally, to support students with disabilities and enable them to fully integrate into university life, the University’s Services Center for Students with Disabilities organized today, November 14, 2024, a ceremony to honor the university’s distinguished students with disabilities in the academic, artistic, sports, and cultural fields. The ceremony was held in the presence of Professor Dr. Abd Al Nasser Anis, former Dean of the College of Education and Director of the Center for Services for Students with Disabilities, Professor Dr. Al-Metwally Mustafa Selim, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Wael Abd Al Qader Dean of the College of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, and Dr. Amr Ismail, teacher of mental health at the College of Education and Deputy Director of the Center. Students of determination and their families. The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, then Professor Dr. Abd Al Nasser Anis, Director of the Center for Services for Students with Disabilities, delivered a speech in which he thanked the University President for the continuous support for students with disabilities, praising the efforts made by the University to ensure a comprehensive and equal educational environment. Professor Dr. Abd Al Nasser Anis reviewed inspiring examples of a number of people with determination who have achieved global achievements, such as the famous American inventor Thomas Edison, who faced learning difficulties at the beginning of his life but became one of the most prominent scientists in history. In his speech, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, stressed that Damietta University is making every effort to provide an educational environment free of barriers for all students, especially those of determination. During his meeting with the students, he listened to their needs and the suggestions of their parents, directing them to quickly respond to the students’ suggestions and needs to facilitate their academic achievement. The students’ parents expressed their thanks and gratitude to the university for its continuous efforts to support their children and overcome all obstacles they may face in their university life. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the university’s distinguished students and graduates with disabilities were honored in the academic, artistic, sports and cultural fields, which reflects Damietta University’s commitment to providing an educational environment that celebrates diversity and enhances students’ ability to overcome challenges and achieve success.
