Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, received this morning, August 27, 2024, a delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which included Professor Rawiya Abbas Al-Dabi, the organization’s social media expert, and Professor Hamada Ismail Suleiman, the organization’s marketing expert. This was on the sidelines of attending the opening of the FAO simulation model at Damietta University “FA Model DU 2024” in its first edition, in the presence of Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdo Amasha, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr.Mohamad Abd Al Hamid Shehab, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Professor Dr. Al-Metwally. Mustafa Selim, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture. The University President welcomed representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to Damietta University, then took them on an inspection tour of the Center of Research Excellence in Advanced Agricultural Sciences and its units, which include the Electron Microscope and Chromatographic Analysis Unit, the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Unit, the Molecular Biology Research Unit, the Central Laboratory, and the Food and feed analysis and quality, and the spectroscopic analysis laboratory, during which they listened to an introductory explanation of the tasks and capabilities of each unit. The University President stressed Damietta University's keenness to support scientific research and provide all means of support to the Faculty of Agriculture to prepare and qualify a graduate capable of leading the locomotive of developing the agricultural sector in Egypt in the next stage.
