Within the framework of the “A New Beginning for Human Building” initiative launched by the President of the Republic, which aims to invest in human capital and strengthen Egyptian identity, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the National Center for Translation, announced the launch of the second edition of the “Translate - Be Creative” competition. This competition comes in implementation of presidential mandates aimed at encouraging distinguished students in the field of translation from Egyptian university students, by employing the capabilities of students from the Faculties of Arts and Languages ??to translate books from various foreign languages ??into Arabic, which contributes to discovering a new generation of translators and strengthening the translation movement in Egypt. The competition continues from January 26, 2025 to March 27, 2025, and focuses on translating important books that enrich the Arabic library, while highlighting the distinguished young talents in translation within Egyptian universities. Postgraduate students, researchers, and members of auxiliary bodies in public and private universities participate in the competition. Participants prepare proposals to translate serious cultural books of wide interest, so that the best of them are selected according to specific criteria, and then published within the publications of the National Center for Translation.
