Today, October 22, 2024, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, witnessed the celebration of the Delta University of Science and Technology on the fifty-first anniversary of the glorious October victories.

As part of its keenness to enhance awareness among new generations of the strength of the will of the Egyptian people and their great army, the university hosted Lieutenant General Osama Al-Mandouh, one of the heroes of the October War and the former consul of Egypt to Israel, to deliver a symposium entitled “Behind Enemy Lines.” The symposium was held in the presence of Major General Minister Tarek Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, Professor Dr. Muhammad Rabie Nasser, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Delta University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Yahya Al-Mashad, President of the University, and  Eng. Osama Rabie, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees. During the meeting, Lieutenant General Al-Mandouh spoke about his personal experience behind enemy lines, where he spent six months in Sinai, monitoring enemy movements and supplies through the American air bridge, and documenting the equipment used to cross the canal and implement the breach. Al-Mandouh revealed the size of the breach that was intended to cover the enemy’s losses, and how he lived during that period on a piece of bread and a cup of tea, to continue his heroic mission. He also referred to his experience after the war when he was appointed as an attaché at the Egyptian embassy in Tel Aviv, where he dealt with those who were His enemies in the field. The seminar team emphasized to the young people attending the importance of pride in the Egyptian character and belonging to the homeland, stressing the necessity of preserving the integrity of its lands. On the sidelines of the educational symposium, Major General Tariq Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, and Lieutenant General Osama Al-Mandouh, accompanied by Professor Dr. Muhammad Rabie Nasser, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Delta University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Yahya Abdel-Azim Al-Mashad, President of Delta University, and Professor Dr. Hamdan Rabie, President of Damietta University, visited the Faculty of Medicine buildings, the Delta Plus Training Center, outpatient clinics, and the Oral and Dental Hospital and Clinics at Delta University to present their capabilities that reflect the technical progress of educational methods available in the medical field.
