As part of Damietta University's commitment to promoting the values ??of brotherhood and love among the nation's citizens, a delegation from the university, headed by Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, visited the Church of the Virgin Mary in Damietta on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, to offer congratulations on the occasion of Easter. The delegation included Professor Ramadan Abdel Hamid El-Tantawy, former President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohamad Abd Al Hamid Shehab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and the deans of the university’s faculties. The university delegation was welcomed by Father Serapamon Mitri, Vicar of Damietta Diocese, Father Marcos Mahrous, Secretary of the Diocese, and a number of priests. Professor Dr.  Hemdan Rabie Al-Mutawali extended his congratulations on behalf of all university members, expressing his happiness on this occasion, which embodies the values ??of love and peace. He emphasized that the unity of the Egyptian people, regardless of their sects, is the fundamental pillar in facing any challenges. For his part, Father Marcos Mahrous, Secretary of the Damietta Diocese, expressed his deep gratitude to the university delegation for this generous gesture, noting that religious holidays represent a true opportunity to renew the spirit of love and unity among the people of the country.
