Damietta University hosts the conclusion of the Youth Leadership Union Forum

                Damietta University hosts the conclusion of the Youth Leadership Union Forum in its fourth edition, in the presence of the Governor of Damietta.

-The Minister of Youth and Sports thanks the Governor of Damietta and the President of the University for sponsoring the Youth Leadership Forum in its fourth edition.

- Governor of Damietta: The Youth Leadership Forum reflects the interest of the Egyptian state and political leadership in youth.

-  The university president praises the efforts of the Egyptian state in paying attention to the issue of university education in light of the current economic conditions the world is witnessing, and stresses that Egypt’s youth are the true wealth of the future.

Today, October 20, 2024, Damietta University, headed by Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, and honored by Professor Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, hosted the closing ceremony of the National Union of Youth Leadership Forum in its fourth edition, in the presence of Professor Mohamed Saber Mowafi, President of the Union of Youth Leaders, and Dr. Samir Abd Al-Ghani, Deputy President of the Union, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdo Amasha, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Shehab, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and a group of deans, deans, faculty members, the supporting staff, and the university’s administrative staff, and symbols of the youth of the Youth Leadership Union in Damietta Governorate and other governorates.

A video was shown about the establishment of Damietta University, the stages of its development, the establishment of its colleges, and the development of its distinctive study programs that meet the aspirations of the student and keep pace with the needs of the labor market. Professor Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi gave his speech, during which he expressed his great happiness at being on the Damietta University campus to attend the conclusion of the Youth Leadership Forum in its fourth edition, which the university is hosting under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and among a number of promising youth leaders. Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi stressed that this forum reflects the interest of the Egyptian state and political leadership in youth, out of belief in their great role in the development process and building the new republic. He pointed out that the state has taken great steps to empower youth and enhance their role in various fields. The Governor of Damietta explained that the Youth Leadership Forum achieves the goals aimed at optimal investment in the energies of youth and the development of their skills and abilities, which is one of the most important axes of human development strategies supported by the political leadership. The state is working to achieve its goals through the initiative launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, “A New Beginning for Human Building,” in addition to the goals achieved by the Forum to exchange visions and ideas among young people, enhance communication skills among them, and work together to build a bright future for our dear homeland. The Governor of Damietta concluded his speech by thanking and appreciating the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its great support for this forum. He also extended his greetings to the University of Damietta for hosting the closing event of the forum. He also extended a special greeting to the promising youth of Damietta Governorate. During his speech, Professor Dr. HEmdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, welcomed the Governor of Damietta, thanking him for his keenness to have young people participate in the event, praising his efforts in advancing Damietta Governorate and completing the process of construction and development. The university president also welcomed Commander Mohamed Mowafi, President of the National Union of Youth Leaders, Dr. Samir Abdel Ghani, Vice President of the Union and its leaders, the youth of Damietta Governorate, and the youth participating from other governorates in the forum. The university president praised the efforts of the Egyptian state to support university education in light of the current economic conditions the world is witnessing, stressing that Egypt’s youth are the true wealth of the future. The university president sent a message to young people about the need to plan for their future and develop clear visions and actual plans to reach their desired goals. The university president also thanked the Students for Egypt family for their active participation in organizing the event. The closing activities included the presentation of singing and poetic performances presented by some of the university’s talented male and female students, and then a video recording was shown about the activities of the Youth Leadership Union. Via Zoom technology, Professor Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, participated in a speech during the forum, during which he thanked the Governor of Damietta and the University President for their sponsorship and support for this forum. He stressed that the Ministry was keen to choose Damietta Governorate to hold the forum, due to the governor’s great interest in the youth and sports file, and he extended his greetings. To the National Union of Youth Leaders and the participating youth. Then the closing activities witnessed an open dialogue session chaired by Professor Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie, President of the University, and Commander Mohamed Mowafi, President of the National Union of Youth Leaders, with the young people present, to respond to youth inquiries, and clarify the efforts of the Egyptian state in supporting young people and qualifying them for leadership positions. Then the closing activities witnessed the exchange of shields between Damietta University and the National Union of Youth Leaders. The closing activities of the forum at the university ended just as they began with the playing of the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The event included various segments presented by university youth, a video presentation about Damietta University, and another video about the National Union of Youth Leaders. A dialogue session was also held, chaired by the Governor of Damietta, the President of the University, and the President of the National Union of Youth Leaders. On the sidelines of the forum, the university president accompanied the governor of Damietta and the president and leaders of the National Union of Youth Leaders to the site of the establishment of Damietta National University, reviewing the measures taken to establish the university to expand educational services in light of the directives of the political leadership and its interest in the university education file.
