Damietta University, in cooperation with the Administrative Control Authority, organizes an awareness seminar

              Within the framework of its commitment to societal responsibility and promoting legal culture and transparency, Damietta University, headed by Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, today, December 12, 2024, in cooperation with the Administrative Control Authority in Damietta, organized an awareness seminar on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day, on “The Role of the Administrative Control Authority in Preventing and Combating Corruption.” Under the slogan “United to Fight Corruption”, Major General Mohamad Abd Al Badie, Head of the Office of the Administrative Control Authority in Damietta, participated in it, in the presence of Professor  Dr. Mohamad Abdo Amasha, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Professr Dr. Mohamed Abd Al Hamid Shehab, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the deans of the university’s faculties, and a group of faculty members. Teaching, administrative staff, university students, and the president and vice president of the university students’ union. The symposium was presented by Professor Dr. Mohamed Maher, Head of the Arabic Language Department at the College of Arts, and its activities were opened with the playing of the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an in the voice of student Mohamed Mohsen. Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie, President of the University, delivered his opening speech, welcoming Major General Muhamad Abd Al Badie, stressing the vital role of the Administrative Oversight Authority in enhancing transparency and achieving justice in government institutions, and appreciating its efforts in supporting administrative authorities and correcting and evaluating their course of work. The symposium reviewed several educational video clips about the Egyptian state’s efforts to combat corruption, most notably the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, the introduction of the National Anti-Corruption Academy, and the Administrative Control Authority’s participation in the activities of the 2024 Book Fair, as well as videos that reflect the effect of trembling hands on making decisions and ending the interests of citizens. In state institutions. For his part, Major General Mohamad Abd Al Badie, head of the Office of the Administrative Control Authority in Damietta, reviewed the role of the Authority in combating corruption, explaining the definition of corruption, its types, and its negative effects on society. He also reviewed the competencies of the Administrative Control Authority and the regulatory authorities in Egypt, highlighting the ongoing efforts to expose Corruption and reducing its spread. The symposium activities ended with a discussion, where the attendees asked many questions about ways to strengthen internal control in institutions and how to deal with multiple cases of corruption. The discussion was characterized by constructive interaction between the attendees and Major General Mohamad Abd Al Badie, who expressed interest in answering the attendees’ inquiries, presenting his vision on ways to Enhancing community awareness and participation in the fight against corruption.
