Today, Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, opened an introductory symposium organized by the College of Education in cooperation with the University Center for Professional Development to introduce the college’s students to the center’s services. This was in the presence of Professor Dr. Ramadan Abd Al Hamid Al-Tantawy, former President of the University, the Vice Deans of the College, and Professor Dr. Hamed Al-Far, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit at the College of Arts, in addition to a number of faculty members, the supporting staff, and students of the College of Education. Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, welcomed Professor Dr. Ramadan Abd Al Hamid Al-Tantawy, former President of the University, and the honorable attendees, thanking Professor Dr. Amany Awad, Dean of the College, for hosting the event. The University President stressed the role of the Egyptian state in promoting and developing higher education, stressing that the government’s support for graduate opportunities is part of a large strategy aimed at improving the quality of education and providing new opportunities in the labor market. He also noted that the university’s mission is not limited to academic preparation only. It also extends to developing students’ skills and preparing them to face the challenges of the labor market. He also stressed the importance of developing personal and professional skills and called on students to take advantage of the training opportunities available to them, stressing that the labor market in Egypt today requires young people to acquire multiple skills in addition to academic qualifications. Professor Dr. Amany Awad, Dean of the College of Education, stressed in her speech that the university’s role is not limited to traditional academic preparation, but rather extends to qualifying students for the labor market. She called on students to take advantage of the training opportunities available to them before graduation, and pointed out that market requirements require the acquisition of additional professional skills. Dr. Aya Shaltout, Public Relations Officer at the University Center for Professional Development, gave an introductory presentation about the center’s services that it provides to students, including specialized technical training such as: Employment Skills Course (EST), digital marketing training (DM), project management (PM), financial technologies and quality control (QC), marketing and supply chain management, and human resources management (HR).
