A student team project from computers and artificial intelligence college is among the top 10 projects

                     A student team from the Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence at Damietta University achieved great success in a global competition for scientific innovations, as the Dexter-1 project was included among the best 10 projects submitted out of a total of 549 projects worldwide in the scientific innovations competition organized by the Faculty of Air Defense. The arbitration committee, consisting of arbitrators from inside Egypt, including leaders from the Air Defense College, and arbitrators from China, India and Canada, praised the project and its capabilities, which include: Face recognition - Voice recognition - Word recognition - Rapid response to toxic gases and fire and direct communication with firefighters - Path recognition for guidance by means of distinctive signs or QR. The project was implemented in the Innovations Lab within the Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence at Damietta University under the supervision of Professor Dr. Wael Abd Al Kader Awad, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Aya Mohammad Al-Zoghby Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Dr. Ahmed Ismail Abada, and Eng. Magi Al-Banhawy in the Engineering Department. The work team also consisted of three students from the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence and a student from the College of Engineering, and they are:

1. Omnia Mohamad Negm - Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence.

2. Rawan Ahmed Abd Al Ghaffar - Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence.

3. Ahmed Atef - Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence.

4. Mohammad Galal Abu Al-Wafa - Faculty of Engineering.

On this occasion, Professor Dr. El-Sayed Mohamad Dadour, President of the University, extends his sincere congratulations to Professor Dr. Abd Al Hamid Khedr, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Professor Dr. Wael Al-Taybany, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Wael Abd Al Kader, Dean of the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, the project supervisors and the winning students. Dr. Dadour stated that the university is proud of the scientific excellence of its students and their honorable representation in international scientific competitions, explaining that the university supports creativity and innovation among students and provides them with the latest equipment and capabilities within the educational, service and research laboratories.
