Damietta University appeared in the international classification of Round University Rankings 2025 for the third year, achieving 929th place globally, and came in seventh place among all Egyptian universities. This achieved an advancement of 176 places compared to last year, which was 1105 at that time. The Moscow-Russia Rating Agency publishes the RUR rating results annually from 2010 to date.

The RUR ranking measures the performance of the best 1,200 leading universities from 85 countries around the world, according to twenty indicators distributed over four main dimensions:

Damietta University ranked 806th globally in the field of scientific research, achieving seventh place locally, 893rd place in the field of global diversity, and 932nd place in teaching. Damietta University also distinguished itself in some indicators, including:

Normalized citation impact: It ranked 323rd globally, achieving second place among all Egyptian universities as a whole. It also ranked 592nd in transparency of information through its website, and 610th in international cooperation in scientific research. The President of Damietta University, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie, confirmed that this progress came as a result of the efforts made to encourage the university’s employees to publish internationally in order to advance scientific research and develop its outputs. Damietta University is also proceeding according to a systematic plan based on an ambitious vision within the framework of strategic goals emanating from Egypt’s Vision 2030. In addition to providing a distinguished educational and research environment for its employees so that it holds advanced positions in global and regional rankings.
