As part of Damietta University's ongoing efforts to develop its students' skills and hone their capabilities to keep pace with the requirements of the digital age, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, inaugurated a distinguished workshop this morning, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, entitled "Good Electronic Presentation Skills." ,which was organized by the Education and Student Affairs Sector under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and with the participation of the "Students for Egypt" family. In his opening remarks, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, highlighted the importance of the symposium's topic, saying: "Developing electronic presentation skills is no longer a luxury, but an urgent necessity in light of the rapid digital transformation the world is witnessing." This workshop is a fundamental step towards empowering our students with modern tools and enhancing their competitiveness in a job market that has come to rely heavily on technical proficiency and the ability to present ideas professionally.” The university president added: "Through such initiatives, we seek to build a generation aware of the requirements of the future, capable of employing technology to develop itself and its society." The university president also thanked everyone who contributed to organizing this workshop, affirming his full support for its continuation and expansion to include other skills that serve Egypt's Vision 2030. The workshop was attended by Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdo Amasha, who offered his extensive experience in university education and information technology, demonstrating to the students the most important skills and techniques needed to deliver effective and professional electronic presentations. The workshop covered several key topics, most notably:
- Principles of designing engaging presentations using programs such as PowerPoint
- How to organize and arrange content in a way that helps convey ideas clearly.
- Effectively use visual and audio elements to enhance engagement and attention.
- Presentation skills and nonverbal communication during a presentation.
- Avoid common mistakes in preparing and delivering presentations.
- Employ electronic presentations in educational settings and academic presentations.
The workshop witnessed significant interaction from the students, who showed remarkable interest in the content presented, and raised numerous questions and engaged in constructive discussions about the challenges they face when preparing presentations and how to overcome them. Prof. Amasha was keen to provide practical examples and realistic models from student presentations, pointing out the importance of continuous practical training. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants expressed their thanks and appreciation to the university administration for its continued support of such initiatives, and to the "Students for Egypt" family for organizing the event.
