Damietta University continues appearing in global and regional rankings

        Damietta University ranked 151-160 in the QS classification at the level of Arab universities, which numbered 246 universities this year from 20 Arab countries. Notably, the number of Egyptian universities participating this year has increased, reaching 36, which reflects the strong competition in the Arab region and the continued improvement of the path of higher education in Egypt. It is worth noting that the QS classification is one of the most important classifications that evaluates the performance of global and regional universities through questionnaires to measure academic reputation, employment reputation, quality of scientific research, the ratio of the number of research published in international journals to the ratio of the number of faculty members, the ratio of reference citations, and the number of foreigners teaching in the university. Now "My Schedule" Application on the University website

  Following the directives of Prof. /  Hemdan El Metwally Rabie, the University president, to move towards digital transformation and facilitate electronic services for university students, the university's portal, in collaboration with the University's Education and Student Affairs Sector, has launched the "My Schedule" application on the Android system. This app allows students to find the locations and timings of lectures on campus easily.

**The 24th Round of the Egyptian American Cooperation Program**

 prof./ Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to supporting scientific research and innovation in Egypt, highlighting the importance of providing necessary funding for competitive research projects and promoting international cooperation between Egyptian researchers and their counterparts in other countries. He explained that the ministry is working on signing cooperation agreements with global research organizations to produce joint research projects. 

In this context, the Science, Technology, and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF), in collaboration with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in the United States, has announced the opening of applications for the 24th Round of the Egyptian-American Cooperation Program, in the fields of (Agriculture, Energy, Health, Water Management, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning). 

The program offers two types of support: 

1. Grants for Joint Research Projects**, which aim to strengthen scientific collaboration between the two countries. Each research team in both countries can receive funding of up to $200,000, with a duration of two to three years. 

2. Short-term Research Visits** for young researchers to U.S. research institutions, with a maximum visit duration of 9 months and a funding cap of $25,500. 

Dr. Walaa Sheta, CEO of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF) noted that the 24th Round of the Egyptian American Cooperation Program aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries in scientific and technological fields of mutual interest, providing opportunities for the exchange of ideas, information, and technologies.

Master's Scholarships and Training Program from JICA

      In line with the directives of Prof./ Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to support researchers and provide all means to enhance the quality of scientific research, the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – the Central Administration of Missions, has announced that the representative office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Cairo has opened applications for the Master’s Program and the Internship Program for the 12th cohort of the African Business Education Initiative for Youth (ABE Initiative) for the year 2025. 

The announcement explained that the ABE Initiative provides opportunities for participants from African countries to study at Japanese universities, along with internship opportunities at Japanese companies, aiming to develop human resources in both the private and public sectors across the African continent.

Scholarships in Japan Offered by the World Bank

       In line with the directives of Prof./  Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to support researchers and provide all means to enhance the quality of scientific research, the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – the Central Administration of Missions, has announced a notification from the Egyptian Cultural Office in Tokyo about a scholarship from the World Bank – Asian Development Bank for a Master's degree in the Economic and Public Policy Program at Tsukuba University, Japan, for the academic year "2025-2026." 

The application period will be from December 2, 2024, to January 17, 2025
