Damietta University is in the first edition of the Times " Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025”

date:23.11.2024

Damietta University achieved a remarkable achievement by entering the first edition of the Times Rankings for interdisciplinary sciences majors.  ISR World Interdisciplinary Science Ranking results were announced in the first edition issued by the Times Higher Education magazine, which was launched in cooperation with the Schmidt Science Fellows. Damietta University ranked 301-350 globally, achieving ninth place among the Egyptian public universities that appeared in this ranking. The results of the ranking showed that the Times Interscience ISR methodology relies on three pillars, each of which represents a stage in the life cycle of research cooperation in joint research projects: inputs, which represent 19% of the total weight of the classification and processes, which represent 16%, and outputs, which represent 65% of the total weight of the Times Interscience ranking. Inputs measure the amount of research funding from industry for interdisciplinary research, and processes measure infrastructure and indicators of measuring success, such as internal support provided by universities and recognition of advancement in interdisciplinary fields. While the outputs are measured based on research production in interdisciplinary disciplines in terms of number and reference citations, and measuring the reputation of universities in conducting interdisciplinary sciences through the Times Foundation questionnaire. 30 Egyptian universities out of a total of 749 international universities from 92 countries participated in this qualitative ranking. The Times ISR ranking is the first effort of its kind to measure universities’ contributions to cooperation between disciplines and interdisciplinary sciences to reach creative solutions to global challenges. On this occasion, Prof./ Hemdan Rabie, President of the University, extends his thanks to Prof. / Mohamad Abd Al Hamid Shehab, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and sincere congratulations to all those affiliated with the University.
