Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, and the leadership of Professor Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, a delegation of students from the "Family for Egypt" program at Damietta University participated in the first marathon for Delta universities, organized by Mansoura Private University, on Monday, April 21, 2025, with a distinguished student presence from various public, private, and private universities. The students' participation came under the supervision of Professor Mohamed Refaat, Director General of Student Services at the university, and accompanied by Dr. Ahmed El-Matary, the "Family for Egypt" leader at the Faculty of Physical Education, who supervised the participating student group. This comes as part of Damietta University's commitment to promoting effective student participation in various sports and cultural activities across Egyptian universities. The marathon witnessed an exciting atmosphere and excellent organization by Mansoura University, where participating students competed in an atmosphere of activity, cooperation, and sportsmanship. The marathon organizers commended the Damietta University delegation's active and distinguished participation, praising the university's commitment to encouraging its students to participate in such events, which contribute to building a generation of conscious youth capable of challenges and excellence. The marathon results are that several Damietta University students win advanced positions. A lottery was also held to distribute prizes to students from participating universities, and the university students received a number of prizes :

Hanin Saad Zaki Fahid, a first-year student at the Faculty of Physical Education, won the Samsung phone prize.
A number of students also won AirPods:
- Student Mira Abd Al Aziz Khalil, third-year sports training student, Faculty of Physical Education.
- Student Nada Noman Mohamad Al-Fayoumy, first-year student, Faculty of Physical Education.
- Student Mustafa Ihab Harb, second-year student, Faculty of Physical Education.
The participating students expressed their overwhelming happiness at this participation and recognition, emphasizing that such events contribute to developing their physical and mental skills and provide them with opportunities to connect with their colleagues from other universities and exchange experiences. This participation comes as part of the Education and Student Sector's plan at Damietta University to support various student activities, based on the university's vision of preparing distinguished young cadres capable of interacting positively with societal changes, developing a spirit of teamwork, and actively participating in community events.
