As part of strengthening academic cooperation between Egypt and France, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Dammita University, witnessed the historic visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Cairo University on April 7, 2025. The visit was held as part of the Egyptian-French Forum for Higher Education and Scientific Research. The visit was attended by high-level officials, including Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Egypt's Minister of Higher Education, and his French counterpart, Philippe Batiste, along with approximately 400 participants from more than 100 universities and research institutions from both countries. President Macron delivered a speech in the Grand Celebration Hall of Cairo University, praising the historic relations between Egypt and France and emphasizing the role of youth and innovation in shaping a shared future. Professor Dr. Hamdan Rabie, President of the University, expressed his pride in participating in this international event, describing it as "a turning point in strengthening scientific cooperation between the two countries." He noted that such partnerships open new horizons for Egyptian researchers and students to benefit from advanced French expertise, which aligns with Egypt's strategy to internationalize higher education and achieve sustainable development goals. The visit complements the two countries' efforts to deepen their strategic partnership. It was preceded by the signing of several memoranda of understanding and the launch of joint research projects in the fields of energy, water, and artificial intelligence, reflecting a shared commitment to building a future based on knowledge and innovation.
