On the sidelines of the opening of the Service Center for Students with Disabilities at Damietta University, today, October 3, 2024, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, visited the USAID delegation, headed by Ms. Marisol Perez, Director of the Office of Education and Partnerships at USAID, and Ms. Quincy Marie Darmory, Director of the Public University Scholarships Program at USAID. AMIDEAST, University Center for Professional Development at Damietta University. This came in the presence of Dr. Maha Fakhri, Executive Director of the University Centers for Professional Development at the American University, and Dr. Amir Rushdi, Director of the University Centers for Professional Development Project at the American University. The delegation met with some university students receiving one of the training courses offered by the University Center for Professional Development. In a mutual dialogue, Ms. Marisol Perez, Director of the Office of Education and Partnerships at the United States Agency for International Development, surveyed students’ opinions about how they benefited from the courses offered by the center, and the experiences they gained on the personal and academic levels that had an impact in changing their aspirations and attitudes toward career life. The meeting concluded with Dr. Maha Fakhry and Dr. Amir Rushdi presenting the USAID shield to Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie, President of the University.
