In an important step towards strengthening Damietta University’s leadership in the field of digital transformation, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, welcomed today, December 26, 2024, the committee for accrediting the Digital Transformation Services Unit at the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence as an accredited center for electronic training and testing on the information technology program and its applications, and the University’s Scientific Computation Center, within the framework of renewing the accreditation of the unit and center by the Central Training Unit of the Electronic and Cognitive Services Center of the Supreme Council of Universities. This came in the presence of Prof. Dr. Wael Abdel Qader, Dean of the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, and Professor Dr. Abd Al Nasser Anis, Director of the University’s Scientific Computation Center, where the importance of this step was emphasized in enhancing the university’s role in developing digital capabilities and achieving the university’s vision of keeping pace with the latest trends in information technology. The committee was headed by Professor Dr. Mohamad Hassan Gadallah, Director of the Training Unit at the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center at the Supreme Council of Universities. The committee included a group of prominent experts, including: Professor Dr. Mahmoud Mustafa Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Khalil Abd Al Hamid, Professor Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud. Abd Al Fattah, Dr. Rehab Ahmed Awad, and Eng. Israa Ahmed Ismail, the committee undertook an inspection tour that included the university's Scientific Computing Center, in addition to the laboratories of the Digital Transformation Services Unit at the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, to assess the availability of the international standards required to renew accreditation. While accompanying the committee, the university president expressed his pride in this step, which represents part of the university’s strategy to achieve excellence in the field of digital transformation, stressing that this accreditation contributes to providing an advanced educational environment that enhances student's skills in the field of information technology, and opens up new opportunities for innovation and development. For his part, Professor Dr. Mohamad Hassan Gadallah, Chairman of the Committee, praised the great efforts made by Damietta University in improving and developing its digital services, noting that the renewal of accreditation is not only a recognition of competence and excellence, but it is also an affirmation of the university’s commitment to international standards in the field of training digital education .He added that this initiative contributes effectively to supporting the educational process at the level of Egyptian universities, which enhances student's ability to interact with the latest technologies in the field of information technology.
