The University President hands over the Al-Gali University Hospital building to the implementing company.

            In a move that strengthens the infrastructure for health and educational services, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, in the presence of Professor Dr. Ayman Mohamed Al-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, today, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, officially handed over the “Al-Gali University Hospital” building at Damietta University to the implementing company, “Al-Tabarak Company for Construction, Engineering Works and Project Management.” to qualify the building to operate as a hospital affiliated with Damietta University, in the presence of Hajj Mohamad Al-Ghaly and Engineer Ali Al-Ghaly, the donors of the hospital building, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abd Al Hamid Shahab, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the deans of the faculties, and representatives of Al-Tabarak Company for Construction, Engineering Works and Project Management. In his speech, the university president praised the importance of this project in developing medical and research services, emphasizing that the building's handover is part of a comprehensive strategic plan to transform the university hospital into an integrated medical and educational center in line with international standards. The university president added that this step represents a qualitative leap forward in patient service and training for medical students. It will also contribute to enhancing scientific research by providing an advanced environment that keeps pace with the latest medical technologies. It is worth noting that Al-Gali University Hospital at Damietta University consists of 11 floors and includes 7 specialized medical centers to serve the governorate’s residents. These centers are a physical therapy center, a cardiac catheterization center, a fertility center, a urology center, a chest diseases center, an internal medicine center, and a kidney diseases center. The project will be completed within 12 months according to the specified timeframe. The Al-Ghaly University Hospital project falls within the university's strategic objectives to implement development projects that achieve Egypt's Vision 2030, which calls for advancing the healthcare system and developing the medical sector, enhancing the level of medical services provided to citizens, and meeting the needs of the local and regional communities.
