Vision

Universities play a vital role in serving society and achieving progress and development.

We aspire for the libraries of Damietta University to be a source of intellectual and cultural radiation, with their sources of information in the fields of science and culture, their material and human resources, and their support systems and services that help promote knowledge, research and culture, and activate the scientific research process.

Mission

We strive to disseminate knowledge and culture, support researchers and keep abreast of developments in the information world to achieve this purpose by providing access to diverse quality and real-time resources and services.

Goals

1. To provide access to modern sources of knowledge in all formats to fulfill the needs of faculty staff, researchers and students.

2. To cater to the needs of readers and researchers outside University.

3. To manage the access, selection, organization, and sharing of knowledge sources, as well as provide exemplary information services designed in line with modern and high quality library practices.

4. To Provide continuous learning opportunities through continuing education and training to benefit from diverse sources of information.

5. To promote cooperation between Damietta university libraries and other university libraries and scientific, cultural and research centers.

6. To provide access to as much information as possible

7. To train library staff to ensure that services are provided in a manner that meets the needs of the University and its faculties, using a methodology based on training and education, and keeping pace with the latest developments in librarianship and informatics.

8. To use information and communication technology in all library activities and services to achieve the aspirations of the university administration and keep abreast of global developments in terms of organization, storage, retrieval, and dissemination of information to the masses of students, researchers and faculty members.

9. To play a prominent role in achieving the University's mission as a support center for continuing education and scientific research in the academic community.

10. To provide special information services based on computer technology for the blind and hearing impaired.
