September 28, the beginning of the academic year 2024/2025

 The Supreme Council of Universities approved the time map for the new academic year 2024/2025, which begins on Saturday, September 28, 2024, and the study in the first semester continues for 14 weeks, ending on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

The first-semester final exams will start on Saturday, January 4, 2025, and end on Thursday, January 23, 2025. The mid-year holiday will begin on Saturday, January 25, 2025, and end on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

 The second semester will start on Saturday, February 8, 2025, and the study will continue for 16 weeks, and end on Thursday, May 29, 2025. The second-semester exams will be held in June 2025, according to the nature of the study and exams in each college.

         Today, Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Prof./ Hemdan Rabie Al-Metawali, President of the University, issued a decision assigning Prof./ Mohamad Abd Al Hamid Mohamad Shehab, Professor in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Commerce at the University, to manage the work of the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research at the University, starting from 30/7/2024 and until a Vice President is appointed. For postgraduate studies and research until another decision is issued by the competent authority.

The 16th Hope Meeting in Japan

       The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) announces the 16th HOPE Young Researchers Meeting in Yokohama, Japan, from March 9-13, 2025.

The application conditions:

  1. The candidate must be a PhD holder or a young researcher specializing in physics, chemistry, physiology (medicine), or related fields.

The Financial Benefits: JSPS defrays the following:

  1.  Meeting cost.
  2.  Candidates' accommodation.
  3.  Meals.
  4.  Meeting venue and hotel.
  5. Transportation between Narita/Tokyo International Airport.
  6. Travel insurance abroad during the meeting period.

Scholarships from Mexico

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), affiliated with the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced the opening of applications for the 2024 International Student Scholarship Program offered by the Mexican government, which provides an opportunity for outstanding students from more than 180 countries (including Egypt) to study undergraduate or graduate studies in more than 90 Mexican educational institutions. Note that one of the conditions for applying to the program is a good command of the Spanish language.

The University President follows up on the work of the Executive Committee for Marketing University Programs

                  Within the framework of the keenness of the administration of Damietta University, headed by Prof,/ Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, to increase the effectiveness of marketing the university’s programs to attract expatriates, in line with the state’s directions regarding improving the expatriate student system and for Egypt to become the largest distinguished educational center in the Middle East in fulfillment of the Egypt 2030 strategy, the university president met today, July 24, 2024. With members of the Executive Committee for Marketing, the University’s programs to attract expatriates, follow up on the committee’s work, and consider the obstacles facing its work and ways to overcome them. The meeting reviewed the committee's work mechanisms to market the university's educational programs and develop the system of services provided to international students. The University President stressed Damietta University’s endeavor to provide a stimulating and attractive educational environment for expatriates that facilitates their academic experience in Egypt and provides a distinguished educational service that places it in the ranks of international universities.
