Chemistry department in Damietta College of Science was established in 1996 with establishment of the college. The department now consists of 64 professors, 14 assistant professors, 19 lecturers, 20 assistant lecturers and administrators as well as 40 scholarship students. Many staff members have worked abroad as secondment to Executive Organizations of United Nations as well as to many Universities in Arab and African countries. The Chemistry Department has 14 labs for students, 20 research labs and 6 services’ labs. The Chemistry Department consists of three main divisions: Organic Chemistry, non-organic (Physical, Inorganic and Analytical) Chemistry and Biochemistry.
