Damietta University, under the patronage of Prof. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metawalli, the President of the University, participates in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the importance the Egyptian state places on sustainable development.
Damietta University invites and encourages its members to participate in the initiative. The importance of participating in the third cycle of 2024 for the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects lies in the intensive national efforts under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Republic. The aim is to achieve sustainable development goals by preserving the environment, improving the quality of life, addressing climate change issues, considering the rights of future generations, and implementing the National Strategy for Climate Change 2050.
The university president has directed all university members, including faculty staff members, researchers, and students, to actively participate in the "National Initiative for Smart Green Projects" for the 2024 third cycle. This initiative presents a unique opportunity to showcase their ideas, innovations, and various activities for the nation's benefit. The initiative targets numerous areas, primarily projects that adhere to environmental sustainability standards and projects that enhance energy efficiency and resource management. It also includes projects addressing food and water security issues, biodiversity, ecosystem services, climate change adaptation, empowerment, equal opportunities, and smart technological components.
